Ayesha Takia has been facing the camera since she was merely 3 years old. She starred in the Complan ad with the child actor Shahid Kapur. She proudly declared in her enthusiastic voice- ‘I am a complan girl’ enticing children to say yes to their mothers while confronted with a Complan drink. Ayesha had done some 60 ads during her childhood.

When she hit her teens, the cute looking Ayesha began to feature in Falguni Pathak videos. She was only 15 at that time. Her delectable beauty in the video ‘Meri chunar Udd Udd Jaye’ was the stuff crushes are made off.

Ayesha Takia then began to shake her perky butt with wild abandon in the sexy ‘shake it daddy’ video. The video became popular and made the filmdom sit up and take notice.

Socha Na Tha was supposed to be Ayesha’s debut film. However that movie ran into delays and Taarzan: The Wonder Car released first making it her official debut film. Ayesha Takia was the recipient of the Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004 for Taarzan. Taarzan the wonder car turned out to be Taarzan the Blunder Car.Ayesha indeed looked fresh and bewitchingly sexy in the movie. In fact, she was the only bright spot in the dud movie. Socha Na Tha too bombed and for young Ayesha, it was a pure case of Socha Na Tha’ that the movie would flop.

Ayesha debuted in her first South Indian movie, Super, in the year 2005 opposite Nagarjuna. Super did reasonably well, and the music ruled the countdown for months. The movie was dubbed into Hindi, called ‘Robbery’ and like in most cases with dubbed films, this was suffered badly.

Ayesha Takia is used to speaking only English but due credit should be given to her, because she made it a point to learn Hindi and Telegu for her roles. The result is evident as not many will be able to say that she could not speak Hindi at one point of time. However her share of flops continued as she shared some of the worst films ever made-Dil Maange More, Shaadi No.1, Home Delivery, Salaame-e-ishq and Kya Love Story Hai.

One movie that really did the jigs for Ayesha Takia was the movie Dor, released in 2006. The movie directed by Nagesh Kukunoor has been claimed by many as one of the finest films made. Made in a shoe-string budget, the movie did wonders for her. Ayesha Takia gave her career best performance as a widowed Rajasthani girl living in a joint family. Ayesha Takia won the Zine Cine Critics Award for Best Actress for Dor. Ayesha also won the Star Screen Award Best Actress Award (critics) and Stardust Best Supporting Actress Award for Dor. Truly, the movie got Ayesha Takia in the mainstream list of favorite actresses. Dor converted Ayesha Takia from just another starlette to a polished actress.

The recently released movie Fool and Final released on June 1, 2007 has also turned out to be a flop. Critics have massacred the movie and rightfully so, because the movie was quite dull and insipid in terms of story, dialogue, performances and humur. . The multi-starrer film Fool and Final directed by choreographer Ahmed Khan, was a frame by frame copy of the cult film ‘Snatch.’ In order to know more about the films and performances of Ayesha Takia in various movies, you can go to http://stormyreviews.blogspot.com/search/label/Bollywood

Ayesha Takia recently made film headlines when she lost out on Aamir Khan’s new film Kajri, the remake of the South Indian hit Kajri. Her role is reportedly replaced by Asin.

Sunday(2007)
